Bookswarm has designed a website for Jo Simmons, author of new children’s book series, Pip Street (Scholastic). We had great fun doing it – after all, how often do you get to design a website involving an animated, souped-up mobility scooter called Pegasus? Not very often, let us tell you.
The books feature eccentric characters, lots and lots of cats, absolute silliness and pancakes. We loved the first book, A Whiskery Mystery, and we’re not even kids any more – so 7+ readers are likely to love them even more than us.
The website features the cast of Pip Street characters, downloadable activity sheets and online games, and of course information about the books. Jo Simmons says, of working with Bookswarm on the project:
I have hugely enjoyed working with Simon Appleby and Bookswarm. Simon has a strong understanding of the role websites play within the publishing industry and, specifically in my case, within the world of children’s fiction. He created a site that perfectly captured the playfulness of my stories, was easy to navigate, colourful and intelligently designed. During the build, he was always extremely quick to respond to any of my queries, no matter how daft and Luddite-ish. The whole experience has been exciting and positive, and I’m absolutely delighted with the finished website.
So what are you waiting for? Visit Pip Street!
