We’ve have great fun over the past weeks and months working on sites for two very different children’s authors – but as they’ve launched quite close together we thought we’d talk about them both together.

AvaFaber commissioned us to create a website for Pip Jones’ new Squishy McFluff series, about the little girl Ava and her adorable but troublesome imaginary cat.

Can you see him? My kitten? Close your eyes tight
His fur is so soft and all silvery white
Imagine him quick! Have you imagined enough?
Oh, good, you can see him! It’s Squishy McFluff!

The site is responsive and includes lots of subtle animated elements, with a blog for Pip, a news section and a selection of fun activities for kids to try (including the ability to upload pics of themselves with their own imaginary cats!). Visit Squishy McFluff

UK_jacket_hb-Copy1We also created a website for Tania Unsworth. Tania has previously published novels for adults, but her debut for older children, The One Safe Place, has just been published in the UK by Orion Children’s.

Those who enter the Gabriel H. Penn Home for Childhood only get to leave one way…

In the near future the gap between rich and poor has become insurmountable. Life as a street child in the big city is only made bearable by who, and what, you know. And by the rumour circulating of a haven for children, a place of true safety. This rumour appears to be nothing more than a fairy-tale until Devin, and his new friend Kit, meet someone who promises to take them there. But when Devin and Kit arrive they begin to understand the real price of safety…

The site uses IP address detection to show the US jacket and appropriate information to North American visitors, and the UK jacket to the rest of the world, and features Tania’s blog too. Visit Tania Unsworth’s website
