Bookswarm has recently launched two websites for Faber children’s authors.
Memoirs of a Neurotic Zombie, by Jeff Norton, is narrated by the hilarious Adam Meltzer – pre-teen, worrywart, and now zombie. Adam’s family gets the fright of their lives when he turns up at their door … three months after his funeral.
Soon Adam’s back at school trying to fit in and not draw extra attention to himself, but when he sees his neighbour Ernesto transform into a chupacubra, and the beautiful Corina (Adam’s number one mega-crush) turns out to be a (vegan) vampire, undead life is never going to be the same again.
Archie Green receives a mysterious present on his birthday. Deep within an ancient wooden box he finds an old book, written in a language he doesn’t recognise. With the book comes a Special Instruction – Archie must travel to Oxford to return the book to the Museum of Magical Miscellany.
Soon Archie will meet family that he never knew he had, and discover the world of the Flame Keepers – a community devoted to finding and preserving magical books.
But the magical book under Archie’s protection is dangerous, and dark spirits hunt it out. With the help of his cousins, Archie must do everything he can to uncover the book’s hidden powers and save the Flame Keepers from evil.
Des Dearlove, who writes about Archie Greene under the name of D.D. Everest, said of his experience working with Bookswarm:
Bookswarm did a brilliant job with my website – from initial design though to final implementation. After one conversation with Simon I had total confidence in them and they didn’t disappoint. Their genuine love of books shines through in every thing they do.
Simon and his team at Bookswarm are true professionals. I can’t recommend them highly enough. They made it easy and fun, taking care of every technical detail so that I could focus on getting the look and feel right. Best of all they delivered on time and to budget. Fantastic people to work with!
