The Independent Publishing Agency Collective (IPAC) is a non-profit making body, formed by a number of small agencies and teams who all focus strongly on the world of book publishing, including Bookswarm.
Between them IPAC’s members cover marketing, publicity, event management, app and ebook creation and much more.
IPAC’s objectives are:
- Making it easy for publishers and authors to submit briefs to all IPAC members
- Promoting a greater understanding between members of each other’s skills and know-how, and encouraging collaboration
- Creating an additional web-presence for member organisations, as a means to promote their skills and expertise
- Organising regular business networking opportunities, face to face
Founder members of IPAC are:
- Agile Marketing
- Amphora Arts
- AMS Digital Publishing
- Arkesis Content
- The Literary Platform
IPAC was conceived by Alastair Giles, Director or Agile Marketing, and Simon Appleby, Director of Bookswarm. Appleby said: “I have long been a believer in the power of collaboration, and the publishing trade has many excellent examples, including the Independent Alliance. We wanted to showcase our members, many of who are already collaborating on projects, and see where closer co-operation might lead.”
Giles added: “IPAC members have a wide range of skills, but what they all share is a relentless focus on the world of books and publishing – our combined client list includes all of the big three, PanMacmillan, Bloomsbury and Faber, as well as work with big brands like Specsavers and Galaxy, and projects funded by Arts Council England.”
Prospective clients can submit a brief to all IPC members via its website. IPAC also welcomes applications from prospective new members through the website.
