Since getting the running bug a little while before lockdown, when he started the Couch to 5K programme, Simon is now running the 2021 Cambridge Half-Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK. This won’t be his first half-marathon but he’s aiming to make it his fastest!

Simon will be hugely grateful for any sponsorship towards his target of £1,500.

“Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose!

Like everyone, I’ve lost people to cancer and I don’t mind admitting that it scares the willies out of me in in general. So I will be running the 2021 Cambridge Half Marathon (13 miles / 21 kilometres) and aiming for a Personal Best to try and raise some funds for a very worthy cause. It will certainly be a new way to see Cambridge, and is probably more strenuous activity than I managed in three whole years of student life combined when I was studying there!

Please donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
